Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - South Street Seaport - New York, NY

Free concerts are always a good thing. Free concerts with good bands are always a better thing. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah found themselves outside on a beautiful summer night playing to a packed crowd at South Street Seaport as part of their Seaport Music Festival. Yours truly was Andy-on-the-spot with my camera.

I don’t have the same fascination that BrooklynVegan does — nor did I even know he was in the crowd. Nor would I have known him had I passed him on the street.
Yeah, some rock photographer I am. ;)

this was a really good show. devotchka was alright if you’re into that kind of thing and clap your hands… was good but we already knew that from the CD. what really made the show for me was the opening act, THE WAY IT IS from seattle. a great mix of acoustic and electronics made the songwriting and performance that much better. i recommend them.

Yes, yes!! I’m glad someone finally mentioned it. The Way It Is was amazing. I checked out the myspace page and listened to his MP3s and they are every bit as good as when he played them. If anyone got one of his free CDs please let me know, i’d love a copy.
